Table Manners

These are from a recent holiday in Borneo where we visited the Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation center.

It was raining when we got there and so only one Orangutan came out of the Jungle but what a character he was. His name is Miko and myself and about 5 other people were lucky enough to get really close up to him – these were taken using my leica m7 with a 28mm lens!

He also gave us a demonstration of Orangutan table manners. Having eaten a whole bunch of bananas he selected a large leaf from nearby. Presumably to help with his digestion (who knows he might just like grossing out Scottish people?) he regurgitated all the banana onto the leaf only to slurp it all back up again a few minutes before showing us the leaf!

it´s a trackback… it´s an automatic function in wordpress that marks for you people linking your posts. the writer may never know this comment was posted. i usually set it off ´cause some people use it to spam your blog.

Ah, thanks Kay I am such a dorky beginner not to realise it was a trackback rather than a comment! Ta…

Great series. That must have been amazing to witness at close range. Not sure I’ll ever want to try the whole regurgitation thing though myself – he’s no distant relative of mine!
